Wonderful Women Beaded Portraits Exhibition – September 2021

Wonderful Women Beaded Portraits Exhibition – Wonderful women and their families!

The Woza Moya beaded portraits project was designed to salute and recognise the wonderful Woza Moya Women and their families. We started with a portrait drawing workshop run by Savanna, those portraits were then interpreted into beads. The portraits are fascinating and delightful. Every portrait is as unique as its maker. Every women depicted is a; mother, a sister, a granny, a friend, a daughter. We salute strong women everywhere.

Thank you to our Sponsors:

We are very grateful to the National Arts Council (NAC) of South Africa and Mama Afrika Spiritwork in Germany who sponsored this exhibition.

These beaded portraits provided the crafters with an income during the very lean months of July and August 2021.

Work from Local Artists:

Woza Moya is all about community. We encouraged local artists to submit portraits and we have work by Sharon Potter, Di Van Wyk, Bridget Clutten, Joe Strachan, John Lund, Nosipho Duma, and Mary Swindell.

Exhibition not to be Missed:

If you loved our flower exhibition you will love this, this is truly something special and meaningful. Bring your sunglasses because this exhibition is bright.
