Our Artist of the Month for February 2022 is Jose Masango with his painting “Colourful Tradition” which is an eclectic mix which was inspired by the beauty of traditions and how traditional attire is worn with pride. Jose loves colour and this painting is a celebration of colour.
Jose was born in Kwa Mashu Township on the 10 February 2002. He is self-taught but has attended art workshops at the Phansi museum. He was inspired to take up art by watching his brother and a good friend who made art with commitment and passion, they started off drawing Dragon Z Ball characters and then later developed into drawing hyper realistic drawings.
Jose is fascinated by images that have a story to tell and how to share that story through his own unique vision.
