The Woza Moya Upcycling Department was set up to make beautiful products from waste and to also use waste generated by the Hillcrest AIDS Centre Trust. Cooldrink Bottle caps are collected and sorted and works of art are created from these.

The department also uses, milk bottles, yogurt and ice cream containers, butter lids and glass bottles. The department makes a variety of products from origami mobiles, to plastic recycled flowers, and drinking glasses from beer and wine bottles.  The department helps train youngsters to use waste to create a business.

The artwork titled “Zulu Love Letter in Bottlecaps” is featured on the Woza Moya Artist Wall for November 2022.
