Artists Profile:

Sinethemba Ndimande is an artist from Umlazi, Durban, embracing both her masculinity and femininity without being limited by gender stereotypes. Faced with remarks like “act like a lady,” she decided to express herself through art and studied Fine Art at DUT.

Her work challenges traditional gender norms using printmaking and sculpture, exploring how everyday objects connect to and reinforce gender ideas. By rethinking traditionally gendered items through techniques like crocheting and embroidery, she aims to allow these objects to interact more neutrally.
